Public Sector Versus Private Sector.
Up the Workers!
Late last year, 2 million public sector workers went on strike in what the unions say was the biggest walkout for a generation.
But who are worse off – workers in the public sector or the private sector? ITV is asking that question in a primetime programme going out early in the new year.
We need workers who have an opinion and who are happy to discuss it on national telly.
Who is paid more, who has the best job security, where is the best pension to be had, and who works the longest hours.
They seem pertinent questions to ask as the age of Austerity lumbers on.
We will compare and contrast the lot of workers in the public sector and those in the private sector and our experts will come to some conclusions about who really is taking more of the pain.
Is the public sector right to feel it is being unfairly targeted when it isn't responsible for the mess the UK is in. Or should it take its share of cutbacks and job losses?
Tell me in brief your story and why you would be the best person to appear on our programme. I'm particularly interested if you're a couple and one of you works in the public sector and one works in the private sector.
